The Office of Media Communications is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to media and concerned citizens regarding public safety incidents and issues involving the Maryland State Police.  Office of Media Communications personnel can be reached in the office at 410-653-4236 or via email at msp.media@maryland.govFor emergency needs after business hours, reporters can contact the Headquarters duty officer at 410-653-4200 and request that a spokesperson be contacted.

Office of Media Communications personnel are proud of their responsive, 24 hour-a-day service to members of the media. In addition to serving as media liaisons, OMC members write and publish a bi-monthly newsletter; write, video and edit a bi-monthly cable television program; produce public service announcements and public safety related educational materials; prepare speeches and correspondence for officials; and respond to thousands of phone and email inquiries. OMC personnel also help plan and produce several annual events including the Maryland State Police Fallen Heroes Ceremony and the MSP Polar Bear Plunge and MSP/NRP Deep Creek Dunk which raise money to support Special Olympics Maryland.
