(New Windsor, MD) – Maryland State Police are searching for a Carroll County man who is on the run after allegedly assaulting his wife last night with a hammer. The accused is identified as Anthony T. Soligny, 33, of the unit-block of Grapes View Drive, New Windsor, Md. He is described as a white male, 6’2” tall, 195 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is believed to be operating a silver 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quad-cab pickup truck, with Maryland tag 00V129. Troopers have obtained a warrant for Soligny, charging him with attempted murder, first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He should be considered dangerous. The victim is identified as Dr. Michelle Nanda, 35, who is the wife of the accused and lives at the same address. Dr. Nanda is currently undergoing care for her injuries at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she is listed in stable condition. At about 11:30 p.m. yesterday, Maryland State Police at the Westminster Barracks received a 9-1-1 call from the victim, who had gone to a neighbor’s home to call police.
