(Hebron, MD) – Police have identified the man found dead after an apparent shooting at a Wicomico County home early this morning.
The victim is identified as Preston Morehouse, 19. The victim’s body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed.
Morehouse apparently moved to Maryland within the last two weeks and had been staying with the residents of the home where the shooting occurred. Information indicates Morehouse has previously lived in Florida and Virginia. Shortly after 4:30 a.m. today, Maryland State Police from the Salisbury Barracks responded to a 911 call in which the caller said a shooting had occurred at a residence in the 27000-block of Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Md. Arriving troopers found the victim lying just inside the front door of the single-family home.
Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators are leading the investigation, with assistance from members of the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation. No one has been arrested at this time. A description of a suspect or suspects is also not yet available.
