(Bel Air, MD) After receiving information from a Comcast viewer, Maryland State Police make an arrest of a wanted fugitive in Harford County.
Troopers from the Bel Air Barracks arrested Sean Stephen Garrison, 37, of Joppa, Maryland after receiving information from a Comcast viewer who had seen him listed on Maryland’s Fugitive Files On Demand. Comcast’s Fugitive Files is a public service that gives digital cable customers the opportunity to view profiles of local criminals On Demand and submit anonymous tips to help police capture fugitives. The arrest of Garrison adds to a growing list of criminals nationwide that have been located through the help of Comcast viewers.
“As law enforcement officers, we are committed to protecting our citizens and working with them to keep our communities safe,” said Colonel Terrence B. Sheridan, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police. “Comcast’s video on demand technology provides us with an opportunity to disseminate information and enlist citizens’ help in tracking down known criminals, like Garrison.”
The Maryland State Police issued an arrest warrant for Garrison on the charges of robbery, second degree assault and motor vehicle theft after he allegedly assaulted a Harford County woman in her residence on September 7 and subsequently stole her car and purse. A Comcast viewer phoned in an anonymous tip on September 21 as to Garrison’s location after seeing the suspect’s profile on Fugitive Files On Demand. Garrison was immediately |
